A: Who cares? It's not Joseph of Nazareth anyways. Joseph was from Nazareth, not Jerusalem so he wouldn't be buried in Jerusalem. Oh, and he was a poor carpenter and couldn't afford a tomb like this.

A: I am a genealogist. My take on "The Christ Family" can be found here:

Joseph- Ben Elim of Sepphoris; (Heli/Eli/Ellemus/Ailem/Illem/Ulam/Joachim), High Priest; "ho tekton".

He was neither poor nor from Nazareth. He was a Priest.
Grandson to Antipater II, King of Judea; "The Idumaean".

A: The scriptures say Joseph was a carpenter, but I'm not aware of them speaking to his poverty.

Jesus' supposed uncle was wealthy (Joseph of Arimathea).

Jesus preached simplicity, but that doesn't mean his family wouldn't provide him a nice burial.

A: How many people in this country are actually buried in the city of their birth? BTW, distances in Palestine are ridiculously short when compared to the distance across some of our states.

A: I'm not sure of the geneologists reference, but I can state for certain that Joseph is not identified as Ben Elim of Sepphoris in any first or second century Christian source.

A: Joseph, father of Jesus, most likely died in Nazareth/Gallilee long before Jesus began his ministry. Therefore it's highly unlikely he would be buried in the family tomb in Jerusalem (also just supposing that it IS *the* Jesus family tomb, which it may not be).
