Q: I would have to say form reading the forums of this site that the responders can be surmised as pro-Christian or not.

I believe the not side can be broken down into many different opinions but the side of the "Christian" represents a truth dismissed or unacknowledged by the "misguided".

I hate to get personal but I consider myself a Christian.
And I don't follow any creed professed to be the truth.
I've been bombarded with truth since i was a child, but have found it myself.

Off of the personal, many will consider my words as a direct line to the Abyss.

So be it!

Go in faith........wherever that may take you

A: i must agree with Panluna, i also believe that this tomb is a very important find in practictly off all time...

i think and strongly believe that christian may feel it to be an assult do to the very fact that all we have learned about religion was first founded on chistian belief and the very fact that this might be true may shock even the priest that have studied under this very influences...
i have come to peace with one religion and that is the religion in my heart the very one that god himself as given me and all of you. it might seem silly if you actually think about it but i believe that the religion that many follow to find god and to make their world a better place might not be the one we where ment to follow so by that thought alone i have practice that very thing that we are all lacking the one on one time with god himself i think that a church is basicly a place where people get together to adore god and spend time with people in need and that they care for, but my home is just the same and who is to say that that was not the way to go . i think we as human beings have always been told and schooled to believe certain things in life and maybe god is trying to tell us that very dont look for me where you have been told but call me and i will lead you were i want you to be....

so with that i will finish up by saying as a child i was told that many things were wrong but as i grew up i realized that our world is bassed on that very thing that moves us all and that is control. i have learned to listen and look and always ask god to quide me, i dont listen to others they are human and all humans make mistakes......

so just ask god and believe me he will light the path to rightousness....

A: The tomb should not be threatening to anyones faith.

Other faiths should not be a threat to anyone else.

Discussion should not be threat to any faith

But some are threatened because they are weak in their faith.

A: In my opinion, the problem is not the Talbot Tomb. I believe it's real. I believe Jesus was human and is buried somewhere on earth even though I'm Christian. I love a lot of what Jesus said, but what is said was mostly based on the Torah and Jewish thoughts at the time even if it wasn't from the rabbis at the temple during the first century, A.D. The problem lies with those in any religion who believe their religious thoughts are the only ones that can be true and they have to convince others they are true. I put r3, KRS, JSM and similar people who have ranted on this site in this category. They only want people to believe what they believe. I am humble enough to admit that I don't know what's true. None of us do so my feeling is live and let live. I have found a very interesting site which I think is closer to what Jesus really taught. It's called Messianic Judaism. It's a good intersection of Jewish and Christian beliefs even though I haven't yet adopted it myself. Some may find it interesting. It appears to me to be closer to the real Jesus than modern day Christianity is. I invite you to look at:

A: Dear betty47,

You are Christian, and so Panluna.
Panluna, shae wasn't happy with her church, so she tried to try another one. Here what she said:
"BECAUSE THERE WERE TOO MANY CONTRADCTIONS and I had more questions than answers is the reason why I decided to join the New Age movement. It gave me more freedom to learn about religion and faith and then I could think and decide for myself what I felt is the right spiritual path for me.Without judgement I made my choices. "
I think it is a possibility that she will try another one after time.
What kind of a religion is that, that people are proud to leave?

She chooses the New Age movement, and you choose the Old Age one, the "Messianic Judaism".
and you said, " It's a good intersection of Jewish and Christian beliefs "!!!

That reminded me of the movement of Paul, when he took over the business, and turned the teaching of Jesus to the teaching of Paul.
From my experiece in this forums and in the N.G. forums, and by watching religion programs on TV, that people mostly bring and use the words of Paul more than Jesus!!!. (Romans, corinthians, Galatians, Hebrews etc., that is what christianity depend on).

betty47 said, " I am humble enough to admit that I don't know what's true".

You change, not just for the sake of changing, but because you find the truth about the religion which you are trying to leave behind and so Panluna. Do you still remember when that the past relogion was the true and perfect one and without any doubt?.
You said, "I don't know what's true". and that is true now, and will never change when you change to the new movement, and not even if you change again and again, the reason because you tied up in your thinking to those who gave the first one and tell how to think. So how for God sake you will find the truth if you are looking at one side, and forgetting that there is other side to check. You will be taught in the new movement exactly as you been told in the old one. you know why?, I don't think that you know. It is clear as the light of the sun but you do not see it.
Here what it is, "Messianic Judaism. It's a good intersection of Jewish and Christian beliefs."
The Jewish beliefs that Jesus is a false prophet, and the Christian beliefs that Jesus is God!!!.

Can anyone tell me the truth, and let me know what is the GOOD INTERSECTION between these two beliefs.

I do not count myself as a Muslim, and I do not follow the Mislims, but from my research I do believe that the teaching which came in the Quran are true, and the teaching of Jesus are true, and the commandments which Moses are true, and God is true, and there is only one God, whom no one knows, because HE is the Holy Spirit.

God bless you.

I'm having some trouble following your thoughts, but it might be because it's late and I'm tired. I think I have argued throughout this site, that I believe modern day Christianity is not really about Jesus, but about the words of St. Paul as he saw Jesus to be. I believe Jesus' words were badly twisted and that's why I'm seeking a form of Christianity which is really closer to today's Judaism. Modern Christianity has broken, in my opinion, far from early Christianity. I'm trying to find the way back. It doesn't really exist yet, but Messianic Judaism is closer to it than most other thoughts of beliefs. However, I'm just learning about Messianic Judaism so I can't speak a lot about it. The real Jesus was Jewish. He read and preached the Torah. He lived and died as a Jew. He loved his Judaism. My personal opinion is that Jesus would not approve of the current form Christianity which has taken which has totally divorced itself from the Torah.

Anyway, I think Christianity is in crisis mode anyway. It's shrinking in membership, especially across Europe. Islam is growing just about everywhere on the globe. The Pope says Catholism is the one true church and reformers are misguided. Protestants say Catholics are not Christians, and young people are leaving all Christian churches in large numbers. Jesus is not relevant in people's lives. We have to find out why. That's why I think this find is incredible. It's getting people to talk about their religion, no matter what it is, and what they believe and stand for.

A: Sam,

My parents were free intellectual thinkers and did not follow or forcably teach my siblings and me religious dogma. We were taught to make up our own minds about what we wanted to believe or include in our lives.I found that the New Age movement was much more expansive than a narrow religious view point and I could accept or reject thoughts, ideas and teachings without prejudice or judgements. If it doesn't work for me I can leave it.I agree with Betty47 LIVE AND LET LIVE and I add make your own choices but look before you leap.More power to you.
