Hello, guest

Q: I was raised fundamentalist Christian, but I'm now a member of the Anglican Communion. If we all just stop and ask ourselves, what do I 'know", we will realize we only believe to know what others have told us.

We all must weigh what is presented before us and form an opinion. Spirituality is just that! Whether Christ beamed up in Star-Trek like fashion or left his body behind does not change the impact He had on us all.

In addition, marraige and child-rearing isn't sinful, so it doesn't matter if He enjoyed this aspect of material living while He was here.

Enjoy your search for truth, but realize it is your truth.

A: I do believe in most of what you have posted, but the only thing I want to add is the Bible doesn't teach truth to be relative - it is absolute. We aren't on a search for our own truth - we should be seeking The Truth. Jesus told us where that Truth lies - in Him (John14:6). I think it is dangerous to believe you can live your life based on your own truth, as our perspectives on life and our own wisdom is very shallow, temporal, and finite compared to The Infinite.

You may not have meant it that way, and I'm not debating your point. I am just picking up on your last line and adding my thoughts. Again, you are absolutely right when you say the most important thing is the impact He has on each of us.

A: Thanks for your kind thoughts. I agree that truth is not relative. I'm just not sure it is possible for us to clearly comprehend that truth while behind the veil. My last sentence was primarily referring to matters to which scripture does not speak.

Peace to you.

A: Jesus Christs Own Words!

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Matthew 18:5 And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.

A: I haven't met the two of you, but I agree with you both. I wish all the threads were like this one. I love the passages Stone recorded.

Jesus the Christ was one with our Father.

Jesus the Christ showed the Way and lived the truth. That is the bottom line!!!

The theories being debated on this website are not new. "There is nothing new under the sun". They were debated in 319 C.E. and will always be.

If we follow the Way, we will not be concerned with things of this world (tombs, bones, and the honorable institution of marraige and child-rearing). We will lay up treasures in heaven.

A: For years people have replaced G-d with Jesus. I think G-d has had enough. Is your faith so weak that the bones of Jesus will make you abandon G-d? The Creator wants mankind to serve him in spirit and truth. It is said, “The truth will set you free!”
I find it strange that Judaism and Islam don’t view Jesus in the same manner as Christianity.
Is it not strange that Jesus was not thought of as god in flesh until years later? No where in the Jewish writings or Aramaic text does it state Jesus is a god.
Many of you will say it’s because the Jews killed him. You sadly mistaken and mislead. You have been lied to. Hoodwinked! Oppressed Jews didn’t have the authority to order anyone to be killed? The following are a few points to think about:

1)James, the brother of said in a debate over Jesus’ doctrine, that he (Jesus) never said, “He was the son of G-d.”
2)Jesus was Jewish, Jewish men marry and have families. Does not the Bible say, “He (Jesus) would kiss her (Mary) on her mouth often? As a Jew he would follow the law, would he not? Kissing her outside of marriage categorizes of fornication.
3)If the truth came out at this time the Catholic Church would lose billions of dollars and go into ruins. The people would know that they had been lying and leave the church.
4)The Orthodox Jews don’t want you to know the truth because you may try to become Jewish.
I will gather them from the four corners of earth, saith the L-rd our G-d. Some who believe in Jesus will become Muslims and those who don’t, Jews. I will make him (Ishmael) a Great Nation, saith the Lord our G-d.
5)My father would say, “If someone wants to rule over someone else all they have to do is Feed them and give them Money. And if they really want them to do what they say, Take It All Away!
Think about it, need I say more?
6) The Bible say’s, When the Messiah comes he will bring PEACE. We have not reached that state. However, I do see G-d unveiling the hearts of mankind and truth replacing the veil. Love never Fails!
7) READ, READ, READ, in the name of the L-rd. He will reveal the truth! Friday sundown to Sunday is not three days!

Lastly, I leave you the reader with this question. If there was no promise of Heaven or Hell would you continue to serve G-d? You say Yes, but would your heart still love Him the same if there were no streets paved of gold. Could you love Jesus for the doctrine he left Knowing that he is not G-d in flesh? ( G-d is G-d. Alone There is none else.) You would have to learn to TRUST G-d and Him Alone as does the Jew and Muslim.

A: I would say that what I 'know' is from reading the word of God and having faith. The big deal about Jesus being married and having a son is that Jesus was born without sin, the only one, God in Flesh, so people twist and add things to say "what if...?". Like if Jesus did have offspring are they super heros or something? If Jesus had offspring wouldn't the Bible been clear about that and wouldn't his offspring be a huge part of spreading the word? NE way that's all from meaningless what ifs... The Bible says to stay away from adding and/or taking away from the word of God

A: Dear Kerry: AMEN, right on

A: I completely agree that the only thing we should keep in mind is that salvation does'nt come from believing Jesus was or was not married, but that he died for us all and conquered death and the grave so that we might do likewise. The only thing about the documentary that disturbed me was the amount of people who might find themselves believing that they have discovered Jesus's bones. The bible clearly states that on his ascension into Heaven, Jesus was flesh and bone. How could he be flesh and bone if he left them behind ? He can't. This is the truth that needs be widespread.

A: Come on folks, 1980, tell me where the bones are and who hustled them into the ground!!!!!

A: dear Wes appearantly they buried them somewhere There in consecrated ground. I Doubt if the IAA is going to allow them to be dug up.

But the DNA would be definiative.

A: It just drives me crazy when people quote Jesus. C'mon! The Gospels were not written BY the Apostles. The first writings didn't happen until a good 100 years after Jesus' death. A human lifespan wasn't that long so we're talking two or three generations removed. There is no guarantee that Jesus is directly quoted in the bible.

Why can't Christians just accept that Christianity is THEIR faith and the bible is THEIR book of authority, but that doesn't mean it is the book of authority for everyone. And that doesn't mean the bible is factual in any way. What you have is a BELIEF! You BELIEVE the Bible is the word of God, you BELIEVE that Jesus was the Son of God, born to a virgin. But there is no FACTUAL evidence to supports that. It is a belief.

I could respect Jesus and his message - if we can even begin to know what that actually was - much more if he/it was no longer bound up with the kind of looney and threatening claims you've just cited.
