Q: I haven't read the book yet, so I only know what's on this site. In the DNA evidence section is says that "Jesus" and "Mary M." are not a match in mitochondrial DNA. They then go on to rule out the biological relationships that are ruled out: daughter / son, brother / sister, and father / daughter. The first two would be truely ruled out if they are not a match, but father / daughter relationships can not be confirmed or ruled out by mitochondrial DNA. This is because mitochondrial DNA is only passed from mother to child. Either they have over stepped the data or they have more DNA evidence they are saving for the book or movie. Has anyone read the book and can comment on this?

A: Jesus (which if I remember right is a form of Joshua) and Mary (Miriam) were pretty common names back then. How many Marys are mentioned in the New Testament? At least three!

Anyone can say that DNA testing "proves" that this is Jesus of Nazareth. And we're supposed to take their word for it. I know for a fact that if they claim it's Jesus, they're lying.

That's like someone taking a book in a foreign language and claiming it says something when it says something else...and the people don't know the difference because they don't know that language!

A: Even if today James Cameron found the bones of Jesus and his whole family like he claims. It does not mean that Jesus did not resurrected.

I am sure after the whipping, beating and the Crucifixion Jesus body was in very bad shap, gory and finished.
Perhpas God in a very scientific was able to recreate and cloned another body quick and fast of Jesus.

Jesus is not the only one that was resurrected in the King James bible.

This can be found in Ezekiel XXXVII 3/7/8/10

Yahweh biblical God flew Ezekeil to a certain place. He watch God performed with at lot of scientific knowledge the recreations of flesh and life with the dead bones of an entire Israel army.
Ezekeil ,037:001
the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones Ezekeil ,037:001
..............and to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry.
037:007 ...........there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.
..........037:008 And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them. ...............
037:010 .........., and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.

Did God do the same with Jesus DNA cells?. Perhaps a cell contains all the DNA and the memory mechanism of that dead person in that bone cell?. And God or science one day can recreate exactly the replica of that person.

During the transfiguration who appeared :
Moses and Elijah appear to everybody there on top of the mountain and both were talking to Jesus.

However Moses had been dead and buried for hundred of years prior to Jesus existence and Moses never entered into Canaan, the promise land of the Jews.
So there stands much later a Moses resurrected or lets say Cloned back to life and this just before Jesus Crucifixion.

Why was Moses there in the first place?. And why was Elijah there too?

People should check out many famous Renaissance Era paintings.
There a lot of clues of what was going on even back then

~ "The Baptism of Christ" ~
Fitzwilliam Musuem, Cambridge, England
Painted in 1710 by Flemish artist Aert De Gelder
depicts a classic, hovering, silvery, saucer shaped UFO
shining beams of light down on John the Baptist and Jesus.
What could have inspired the artist to combine these two subjects?

he Crucifixion" hangs above the altar at the Visoki Decani Monestary in Kosovo, Yugoslavia ~ it was painted in 1350.
On either side of Jesus are a pair of Jetsons like skycars, one chasing the other ~ the pilots apparently working controls.
The leading craft is decorated with two twinkling stars, one reminiscent of national insignia on modern aircraft.

~ "The Annunciation" ~
painted by Carlo Crivelli in 1486
on display in the National Gallery in London.
A familiar disk shaped object is shining a beam of light
through the house wall and down onto the top of Mary's head.
Much activity is going on in this painting, besides people pointing

located in the Svetishoveli Cathedral in Mtskheta, Georgia.
Notice the two saucer shaped objects on either side of Christ

A: Hello Alexandra

It certainly would be grand if you actually viewed the DVD of the documentray and/or read the book. That way, you might actually retain some information and might even have a vague clue as to what you're talking about. Of course the names Jesus and Jospeh are common among first century Jews, but they are rare in combination. Out of the thousands of ossuaries only one other with such an inscription was ever found. The name "Maria" is a hybrid of Greek and Hebrew and is found only in the NT and on the Maria ossuary from the Talpiot tomb.

No one claims that the mitochondrial DNA testing proves this is the Jesus of the NT. Get a grip and read the material. All it proves is that no maternal relationship exists between whomever is in the Jesus ossuary and the Mariamene ossuary. It rules out mother-son, brother-sister, aunt-nephew.

All of you seem to be on the dge of hysterics over this find. Calm down. If Jesus rrose from the dead it doesn't have to have been physical. The NT is very unclear at this point. Do a Google search under resurrection and read the conflicting biblical data for yourselves.

I believe Jesus rose from the dead, but I don't believe his body did anything but remain in his tomb, hence this find does nothing to upset my faith. On the contrary it strengthens my faith. The evidence for the existence of an historical Jesus is pretty thin. This is the first actual concrete evidence that such a man ever lived.

Some of these posts border on lunacy, with weird speculations about God doing DNA testing and whatnot. My god...you people are allowed to own cars and drive and vote.

A: I really think they should do DNA testing on the bones that were contained in the boxes. I know they were give a Christian Burial in 1980 whenthe tomb was first discovered.Tthere must be a record of where they were buried. The Jesus Family tomb theory is far too important to dismiss a pure fantasy. The world has a right to know once and for all. is it or isn't it the Tomb of Jesus of Nazareth? What are all these sceptics so afraid of? If the theory is a fraud then surely it warrants further investigation.

A: Lakemort,

The tests proved conclusively that the Talpiot tomb is the real Jesus family tomb. The skeptics are the people who were raised to believe that Jesus was physically ressurected after his death and that issue is also the main point of theological conjecture. It will take some time for the truth to sink in after all it took Christianity 2000 years to come full circle and reveal the answers to this mystery.

A: As far I understood, I have the same opinion of Stu. But Can Somebody tell me What the hell are the scientist waiting for to do The DNA test at the bones buried in 80's. It would pratiacaly work it out. (I did the same question at the forum "BONES ! TEST THE BONES DNA". ?

A: The evidence presented is probably highly selective in favor of creating excitement. Excitement loosens dollars.
