Hello, guest
Name: CRosebrough  •  Title: 10th Ossuary Was NEVER Missing!  •  Date posted: 02/28/07 22:40
Q: The case against the Cameron’s and Simcha’s claims is picking up even more steam. The evidence for their claims is literally falling apart.

The film is claiming that the James Ossuary more than likely originated from the Talipot Tomb because one of the 10 original ossuaries disappeared and is missing. According to Simcha the James Ossuary first surfaced in 1980, therefore it must be the missing Talipot ossuary.

Yesterday, the Jerusalem Post published an interview with Prof. Amos Kloner. He is the man who oversaw the archeological work at the Talipot Tomb in 1980. He was asked directly about the “missing ossuary” and the chances that the James Ossuary originated from Talipot. Kloner told the Jerusalem post that there NEVER was a missing ossuary and that the JAMES ossuary does not fit the dimensions of the ossuary in question.

Here is the quote from the Jerusalem Post...

]]]What of the assertion that the 10th ossuary disappeared from your care and may be none other than the "James" ossuary?

Nothing has disappeared. The 10th ossuary was on my list. The measurements were not the same (as the James ossuary). It was plain (without an inscription). We had no room under our roofs for all the ossuaries, so unmarked ones were sometimes kept in the courtyard (of the Rockefeller Museum).[[[

This film's facts DO NOT prove this is the tomb of Jesus AT ALL. I've written a comprehensive rebuttal to the facts presented by the film that are published on this site.

A: There are some things that will remain without absolute proof. This being one of them. I can see motivations for and against this discovery and it's difficult to trully know because of that. The very foundation of those that subscribe to any form of christianity could be destroyed. Which leads me to wonder how is it possible for spirituality, that is those things of the spirit, to depend so much on the concrete? Seems that spirituality is taken too literally...which also means it's not very spiritual. On the other hand, I can see that there would be a vested interest to make this discovery a reality for those that do not subscribe to christianity of any form, or those who are of a spiritual conviction that contradicts the teachings of Jesus. It's also perfect timing to make a bang this time of year, and perhaps the discovery channel is following in the footsteps of NG and the Gospel of Judas. All these things can contribute to the information being distorted, and it will take detailed weighing of available info to be able to discern anything from this discovery. Unfortunately, most will not give it a chance at all because of a fear of the structure of their beliefs falling apart.

A: Come on now, will the boogey man get you? There is a fine line, if any, between miracles and magic. Jesus was also accused of being a magician.

A: OK, then where is it? What were the measurements of the ossuary?

IMO, this sounds like an extremely clumsy excavation. Where are the initial report of the find ? Are the measurements there? Am I to believe that Kloner remembers the measurements 27 years after?
Is the location of each individual ossuary listed in the report found on the discovery website? Why not?

A: Please, you are once again quoting the guy who has the most to lose from this find.

Think, if this is true, what does this guy have to lose...lots

A: Not really, that would only be true if there was a coverup, but there clearly wasn't. I knew about these ossuaries some time ago when working on my masters, but no one considered them important, most scholars still don't.
