Title: Was the Chevron carved when the skulls were put in the tomb? •

Q: I wonder if they will do petina tests on the chevron.
And if it was carved at a later date, say the same time as the skulls were placed there, then what was the significance to those people?
It seems to me that the skulls would have been left there in the belief that the ossuaries were the family of jesus.

A: The "chevron", or ancient symbol for heaven, protrudes outward, so must be original to the tomb, since if the face were created as a blank wall, later decorations would have to have been carved inward. There is absolutely no scientific way to prove when the skulls were placed in the tomb, or by whom, or why, so we can only guess. The circle usually represents neverending love.

A: If the "chevron" is the ancient symbol for heaven, then what was it called in Hebrew. Surely not chevron. That's a french word. According to Da Vinci code theorist, the chevron shape would indicate the ancient symbol for man. However, here the symbol is not just a chevron, it's a chevron type shape with a circle under it. The theory here, I gather, I could be wrong, for these researchers is that it is the Eye of Providence, ie: Masons, Knights Templar, Holy Grail found under Solomon's Tomb..
Holy Blood, Holy Grail stuff.
I'm still not convinced. The "evidence" doesn't match what the researchers are trying to convey. They say the tomb dates back 2000 years. But the Knights Templar aren't that old. Free Masonry isn't that old. I'm interested, but I'm not convinced.

A: The skulls at the front of the entrance could be carbon dated.
